Is pulsed light suitable for your packaging?
Pulsed light technology is a clean process that uses short pulses of intense, broad spectrum light to sterilize packaging surfaces. All kinds of germs, even spores, are immediately killed.
Several advantages for Claranor pulsed light sterilization have been highlighted by the industry compared to conventional processes for similar levels of decontamination:
- Compact and easy to integrate equipment
- Clean technology: no chemicals, no water consumption, low energy consumption, low carbon footprint
- Economical: a TCO lower than traditional methods. Request our available comparative studies
- Powerful: online and instant treatment, it ensures high levels of decontamination. Claranor has already applications in development for the pharmaceutical industry.
From standard caps to sports caps, pails and lids, how does technology work?
The pulsed light technology is a “WYSIWYG” (“What you see is what you get”) technology, which means that only the visible areas are decontaminated: the shadow is the only constraint and the geometries of specific packaging can be challenges.
Part of Claranor’s know-how and expertise consists of designing new reflectors in order to minimize any shadow areas.
SPORT CAP, CROWN, PREFORM NECK
We now have effective solutions capable of decontaminating:
all types of caps, flat cap, sport cap, 5 gallon cap, crown, metal and long neck, preform and bottle neck
Discover our full range of equipment for caps and preforms
Since 2006, we have developed a wide range of versions, from single to double to multiple cabinet. The latter allows the treatment of different types and shapes of caps with the same equipment. As well as different neck diameters (from <30 mm to 50 mm)
Claranor equipment for sterilizing preform necks is integrated into the preform chute upstream of the blowing step.
CUP
Our sterilization process is suitable:
- for cups of all capacities and shapes (from mini dessert cups to buckets and pails), round or rectangular, whether preformed or FFS pots.
- for a wide range of materials: PS, PE and PP. Non thermal and using neither chemicals nor water, our solution has reached the high performance levels on PLA cups without affecting the material concerning conventional methods.
- Our units can be installed on a linear or rotary filling line, with a speed up to 60 strokes / min.
